For the second straight year, legendary rock band Metallica is hosting a national day of service. Locally, the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan is participating and looking for up to 100 volunteers per hour between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, in our Hunger Solution Center, 1939 Howard Avenue, Flint, MI, 48503.
Volunteers will check, clean, label, sort, and box food and non-food packaged items, which will then be made available for distribution by our agency partners in 22 counties across eastern Michigan. One volunteer sorts enough food for 355 people per hour!
Volunteers can fill out our application and register for a shift at this link. If you are unable to volunteer, you can also consider making a donation—a $1 donation provides 6 meals for families in need!
For questions, contact our volunteer coordinator, Keri Brack, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (810) 396-0210.
